Hiking @ Caoling

Jinguashi Silvergrass Festival in Taiwan during Fall Season.

Novermber 15, 2008

Some classmates and friends @ National Taiwan Normal University decided to hike in Yilan (Northern Taiwan) an hour from Taipei by local train. The place is called Caoling (草嶺) Trail is 8.5 km in length. It lies beetween Gongliao, Taipei County and Toucheng, Yilan County. The trail was an important pathway between Taipei and Yilan (宜蘭), and it has existed for more than two centuries.

Every year of late November, they have a celebration called Silver Grass Festival. The silver grass is in full bloom, and the hilly areas are covered with sleek, satiny grass.Attracting lots of tourist to take a hike in a trail.

I'm glad we experienced it this year.

After 6 hours of hiking, whew, it was tiring but fulfilling!
